Sign of Choice

I chose this sign because it was vintage & it looked like something I would hang up in my room. While tracing this sign I learned how to  use diferent shapes to form the arrow and manipulate them to be a different shape than what I began with. I also learned how to use my layers pannel to my benefit in a much more efficient way. I had to get a little creative for the cent sign because I could not find it in the glyphs so I used two rectangles and placed them on top of and below the c. The biggest challenge was probably simply matching the font, because there are so many to choose from. With this project I have realized that I am slowly but surely getting more comfortable with using Adobe Illustrator.

Las Vegas Pen Practice

In this project I learned how to use the brush tool, for the lights around the sign. I also learned how to copy the same shape with the "alt" key. Tracing was a useful learning project for me to use and get more comfortable with the tools in Adobe Illustrator.

Personal Quote

This quote is one of those quotes I can read on a bad day and it still brings a smile to my face. I am absolutely in love with sunshine and yellow, so this quote is not only an encourage "feel good" quote but it involves my favorite thing, which is why I really love this quote.I chose to form the quote in a circle, because it is all  rounded and involves no edges. Edges are blunt, while rounded edges form a more peaceful shape. I also chose to make the quote look like a sunshine, to emphasize the meaning of the quote. The backround is yellow, because yellow is an encouraging and happy color. "stormy now" is a blue/grey because it is supposed to resemble the bad times you're going through. I emphasized "Path", "Destination", "stormy now", an "sunshine" because they are each important to this quote.

Glyph Monster

While creating my glyph monster, I learned how to creat shapes with smaller glyphs, rather than using large plain shapes. I also used smaller glyps to define different colors or shades, while only using black glyphs.

Quote with Color

I chose to emphasis "should" with yellow, because yellow is a color that catches ones eyes and means optimism and imiganiation. "Music" is a light blue because blue portrays "calm". As for "moods", "feelings", "emotion", and "meaning" I chose to emphasize those words with a light lavender because it symbolizes grace and elegance.

Film is in all caps because that is the subject and main idea of this quote. While should is bolded because it may not be considered that way we know that the author of this quote believed it SHOULD be this way. Progression is displaying the meaning of the word through the changing of letter sizes. Moods, feelings, emotiong, and meaning are all italisized to display the genuine meaning of those words.
